152nd Street Rail Overpass Project (Surrey)
152nd Street is a major north-south traffic artery linking the rapidly growing areas of South Surrey and White Rock with the rest of Surrey. Due to population growth in Surrey, 152nd Street traffic is forecast to almost double to nearly 40,000 vehicles per day by 2021. Combined with other initiatives in the area—including closure of the street-level crossing at 148th Street by means of constructing an access road to 144th Street, and the improvements for whistling cessation at 168th Street—this project will combine to eliminate train whistling for the majority of the railway corridor through Surrey.
